TORONTO, June 30, 2021 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro has been named one of Canada's top ten Corporate Citizens in the Corporate Knights Magazine's 2021 ranking of the best 50 corporate citizens in the country. Toronto Hydro also ranked second in Canada for corporate citizenship among utilities.

Corporate Knights Inc. is a Canadian-based organization that publishes one of the world's largest circulation magazines with an explicit focus on the intersection of business and sustainability.

The annual Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada — now in its 20^th year — is compiled following the evaluation of 271 Canadian companies on a set of 24 environmental, social and governance indicators, relative to their industry peers and using publicly available information. The Best 50 companies set the standard for sustainability leadership in Canada.

The ranking recognizes Toronto Hydro's sustainability achievements, including ongoing efforts to improve reliability, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and foster a thriving and diverse workforce.
